BOOK CERAMIC WINDOW TINT
CARBON VS. CERAMIC WINDOW TINT
You want a clean appearance at a lower price
Privacy and glare reduction are your main priorities
You want better performance than entry-level dyed tint
Maximum heat rejection is not essential
Choose Ceramic Tint When:
Heat rejection is a major priority
You want premium comfort and clarity
Your vehicle spends significant time in direct sunlight
You drive frequently during hot Colorado summers
You want strong performance from a lighter film
You own an EV and want to reduce cabin heat buildup
You want our premium tint option
Both options provide a substantial upgrade over untinted glass. Ceramic tint generally offers better thermal performance, while carbon tint provides excellent value.
Available shades may include:
Availability may vary depending on the film type and current inventory.
The percentage represents Visible Light Transmission, commonly called VLT.
A lower percentage produces a darker appearance:
5% is extremely dark
15%–20% provides substantial privacy
35% offers a moderately dark appearance
50% is lighter and more subtle
70% appears nearly clear on many vehicles
Your vehicle’s factory glass affects the final measured VLT. Applying 35% film does not necessarily make the completed window measure exactly 35%.
We can discuss appearance, heat rejection, visibility, and legal considerations before installation.
COLORADO WINDOW TINT INFORMATION
Colorado regulates automotive window tint according to the amount of visible light transmitted through the completed window.
Colorado law generally requires qualifying side windows to transmit at least 27% of visible light. Windshield tint is subject to more restrictive placement and light-transmission requirements. Metallic or mirrored window film is also restricted.
Factory glass and aftermarket film work together to determine the final VLT. For example, installing film labeled 35% over factory glass may produce a completed reading below 35%.
Window-tint regulations and enforcement can change. Customers should verify the current law and are responsible for their selected tint shade and configuration.
Wrap Supply Co. does not guarantee that a customer-requested shade will comply with every state, municipality, inspection requirement, or law-enforcement interpretation.
Chameleon window tint is available by request.
This specialty film creates a color-shifting appearance that can change based on sunlight, viewing angle, and surrounding conditions.
Availability, color, performance, legality, and pricing depend on the specific film and requested application.

FACTORY PRIVACY GLASS VS. WINDOW FILM
Many trucks, SUVs, and crossovers come with dark factory privacy glass behind the driver.
Factory privacy glass mainly darkens the glass for appearance and privacy. It is not the same as professionally installed carbon or ceramic window film.
Adding ceramic film over factory privacy glass may provide:
For many SUVs and trucks, customers tint the two front windows to visually match the rear and then add lighter ceramic film over the rear privacy glass for improved heat control.
Existing tint removal is available and is quoted separately.
Removal pricing depends on:
Old, bubbled, purple, cracked, or heavily adhered film may require additional labor.
Extra care is required when removing tint from a rear window containing defroster lines. Although careful procedures are used, Wrap Supply Co. cannot guarantee the condition of aging or previously damaged defroster components.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING INSTALLATION
Select carbon or ceramic film and discuss your desired shade.
We inspect the glass, seals, existing film, defroster lines, and any visible damage.
The windows are cleaned and prepared to reduce dust and contamination.
The film is measured, shaped, applied, and carefully finished around the window edges.
We inspect the installation and explain the curing and aftercare process.
Installation time depends on the vehicle, number of windows, existing-film removal, and glass complexity.
Freshly installed window tint requires time to dry and cure.
After installation:
Do not roll the tinted windows down for approximately three to five days
Do not scrape, pick, or press on the film
Allow temporary moisture pockets or a slightly hazy appearance to dry naturally
Do not use ammonia-based glass cleaner
Clean the inside glass with a soft microfiber towel
Use a tint-safe glass cleaner
Avoid attaching suction cups, stickers, or mounts directly to the film
Contact us before attempting to correct any concern yourself
Drying time varies based on temperature, humidity, sunlight, film type, and vehicle storage conditions.
Small moisture pockets or temporary haze can be normal during the curing period and do not automatically indicate a defective installation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long does window tint installation take?
Most standard installations can be completed within several hours. Timing depends on the vehicle, package, number of windows, window shape, and whether old tint must be removed.
What is the difference between carbon and ceramic tint?
Carbon tint provides privacy, UV protection, glare reduction, and good performance at a lower price. Ceramic tint is the premium option and generally provides better heat rejection, clarity, and long-term performance.
Is ceramic tint worth the additional cost?
Ceramic tint is often worth the upgrade for drivers who prioritize heat rejection, cabin comfort, optical clarity, and premium performance. It is especially useful for vehicles parked outside frequently.
Can you match my front windows to the factory rear glass?
Yes. The two-front-window package is commonly used to create a closer visual match on trucks and SUVs. An exact match is not always possible because factory privacy glass and aftermarket film have different colors and optical properties.
Yes. We tint Teslas and other electric vehicles. Pricing may vary for vehicles with unusually large, curved, or complex glass.
Does tint block heat even when it is light?
Quality ceramic film can reject significant heat without being extremely dark. Tint darkness and heat rejection are related to different film characteristics.
Will tint interfere with my phone or GPS?
Our carbon and ceramic options use non-metallic construction and should not interfere with cellular, GPS, Bluetooth, or radio signals.
Can you tint over existing tint?
Installing new film over old aftermarket tint is generally not recommended. Existing film normally needs to be removed so the new tint can properly bond to clean glass.
Why does fresh tint look hazy?
Temporary haze, moisture pockets, and small water patterns may be visible while the film cures. These normally diminish as the remaining installation moisture evaporates.
When can I roll my windows down?
Wait approximately three to five days unless you are given different instructions at the appointment. Cold or humid conditions may require additional curing time.
Do you offer windshield tint?
Yes. Full-windshield tint is listed at $250, and windshield brows are $50. Customers are responsible for choosing installations that comply with applicable laws.
Is window tint legal in Colorado?
Colorado allows automotive tint within specific VLT, placement, color, and reflectivity restrictions. The final measurement depends on the combination of factory glass and installed film. Regulations should be independently verified before selecting a shade.
Do you warranty the tint?
Ask us about the warranty that applies to the specific film selected. Warranty terms may vary by product and do not cover scratches, customer damage, glass failure, contamination caused by vehicle condition, or installations requested outside legal requirements.
